Eligibility
VFW
All U.S. service
members who have earned an overseas campaign or expeditionary medal and are
currently on active-duty, in the Reserves or who have been honorably
discharged from the U.S. armed forces.
In addition, the
service member must be an U.S. citizen.
Note: A 1995 VFW Congressional Charter amendment makes eligible
all those who
have served 30 consecutive days or 60 nonconsecutive
days on the Korean
peninsula or in its territorial waters from June 30,
1949, until the present.
Ladies Auxiliary to
the VFW
Wives, widows,
mothers, foster and stepmothers (who have performed the duties of parent),
grandmothers, daughters, granddaughters, foster and stepdaughters (who
attained that status prior to the age of sixteen and for whom the duties of
parent were performed), sisters, half sisters, foster and stepsisters (who
attained that status prior to age sixteen) of persons who were or are
eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United
States.
Members must be
citizens of the United States and not less than sixteen years old.
Women eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United
States shall be eligible for dual membership in the Ladies Auxiliary.
Men's Auxiliary to
the VFW
Husbands,
widowers, fathers, foster and stepfathers (who have performed the duties of
parent), grandfathers, sons, grandsons, foster and stepsons (who attained
that status prior to the age of sixteen and for whom the duties of parent
were performed), brothers, half brothers, foster and stepbrothers (who
attained that status prior to age sixteen) of persons who were or are
eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United
States.
Members must be
citizens of the United States and not less than eighteen years old.
